HARRIS GARDNER is the author of three volumes of poetry, Among Us, Lest They Become and Chalice of Eros (Co-authored with Lainie Senechal). His poems have appeared in The Jewish Advocate, The Harvard Review, Midstream, The Aurorean, Providence Journal, Spare Change News, Endicott Review; Ibbetson Street Journal, City of Poets Anthology, Main Street Rag, Facets, Poesy, Vallum (Canada), Pemmican, The New Renaissance, Wilderness House Literary Review, I Refused to Die (A Holocaust Study by Susie Davidson), and about fifty other publications. Harris is host of Tapestry of Voices, with monthly poetry series at Borders Books and Forest Hills Cemetery. He is founder of Boston’s National Poetry Month Festival, 2001 to the present, co-founder (with Doug Holder) of Breaking Bagels with the Bards, a weekly poetry community. For three years he was Poet-in-Residence at Endicott College, Beverly, MA. He has received Honorable Mention for the Boyle-Farber Prize (New England Poetry Club) and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

 

GLORIA MINDOCK is editor and publisher of Cervena Barva Press and editor of the Istanbul Literature Review based in Turkey.  She is the author of 2 chapbooks, Doppelgangerand Oh Angel and two about-to-be-published poetry collections, Nothing Divine Here (from U Soku Stampa) and Blood Soaked Dresses(from Ibbetson Street Press).  Gloria’s work has been published in numerous journals including UNU:  Revista de Cultura in Romania, Arabesques, Poesia, Phoebe, Poet Lore, Blackbox, River Styx, Bogg, Ibbetson St., and Wilderness House Literary Review to name a few and numerous anthologies in Romania including Murmur of Voices by Cogito Publishing House.  She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and was awarded a fellowship from the Somerville Arts Council. From 1984-1994, she edited the Boston Literary Review/BLuR and was co-founder of Theatre S & S. Press, Inc.  Theatre S. received grants from the Polaroid Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Globe Foundation, New England for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Somerville Arts Council.

The reading will begin with an open mike. Refreshments will be served before and after the reading starting at 7pm. Suggested Donation--$3.


How to get to Cambridge Cohousing:
Note: The Walden St. bridge is under construction. Cambridge Cohousing is located just north of Porter Square at 175 Richdale Ave. From Massachusetts Ave., turn onto Upland Rd. Take the first right onto Richdale Ave. Cross Walden St. and proceed to 175 Richdale Ave. Cambridge Cohousing is a complex of yellow buildings. Walk through the main gate to the common house.
