Tim Gager and Luke Salisbury

TIM GAGER is the author of Short Street and Twenty-Six Pack, both collections of short fiction and the e-book, The Damned Middle. His books of poetry include The Same Corner of the Bar and We Needed A Night Out. He hosts the Dire Literary Series in Cambridge, every month and co-founded the Somerville News Writers’ Festival. His short stories have appeared in Word Riot, 55 Word, Scene Boston, Thieve's Jargon, Zygote in My Coffee, and Poor Mojo's Almanac, among others. Tim’s poetry has been published in The Ibbetson Street Journal, Poems for All, Right Hand Pointing, GUD, Edifice Wrecked, Blue Print Review, Erato, Poetry Life and Times, Spare Change, The Somerville News, High Horse, and other journals.  He has been nominated for two Cambridge Poetry Awards. Tim is the founding co-editor of The Heat City Literary Review and edited the book, Out of the Blue Writers Unite: A Book of Poetry and Prose from the Out of the Blue Art Gallery.

LUKE SALISBURY is a Professor of English at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and teaches English and Film. He is the author of The Answer Is Baseball, which The Chicago Tribune called the best baseball book of 1989, and several novels including, The Cleveland Indian, which was nominated for the Casey Award in 1992 as best baseball book of the year, Blue Eden, a novel in three stories, and Hollywood and Sunset. Mr. Salisbury has contributed to many baseball books and wrote Chapter 9 of a Treasury of Baseball. His work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Ploughshares, Stories Magazine, Pulpsmith, Fan, Elysian Fields, Spitball, Nine, SABR Review of Books, Cooperstown Review, and (in translation) AERA, the Japanese equivalent of Time. He is a past vice president and national secretary of the Society For American Baseball Research (SABR).

The reading will begin with an open mike. Refreshments will be served before and after the reading starting at 7pm. Suggested Donation--$3.


How to get to Cambridge Cohousing:
Note: The Walden St. bridge is under construction. Cambridge Cohousing is located just north of Porter Square at 175 Richdale Ave. From Massachusetts Ave., turn onto Upland Rd. Take the first right onto Richdale Ave. Cross Walden St. and proceed to 175 Richdale Ave. Cambridge Cohousing is a complex of yellow buildings. Walk through the main gate to the common house.
